Build Your Own AI Assistant – From Zero to Agentic AI (Hands-on Workshop)

The AWS Cloud Club USTP is back for the next round.

How are modern AI assistants built – and how can you create one yourself?
That’s exactly what we want to explore together at the next AWS Cloud Club USTP Meetup.

This time, we’re offering a particularly hands-on event for our students, focused on Agentic AI and modern AI systems – including an interactive workshop where you’ll actively build your own solution.

Together with our special guest Linda Mohamed, we will dive into real-world use cases and show how AI systems are actually built today.

What can you expect as a participant?

This event combines practical insights with direct implementation.

Agenda

  • Welcome & Introduction – AWS Cloud Club USTP
  • Kickoff Session: AI & Agentic AI in practice
  • Q&A / Open discussion
  • Hands-on Workshop: Build your own AI Assistant
  • Networking & Get-Together (snacks & drinks included)

Kickoff Session

You’ll learn how modern AI assistants are built – from initial concepts to production-ready systems.

You’ll gain insights into:

  • Multi-agent systems
  • Real-world challenges when building AI systems
  • Best practices from industry experience

Highlight: Live demo of a Slack bot using a multi-agent setup

Hands-on Workshop

After the kickoff session, it’s your turn to get active.
You will build your own AI assistant.

During the workshop, you will learn:

  • How AI functionalities are integrated into existing applications
  • How APIs and cloud services serve as a foundation
  • How modern tools like Amazon Bedrock are used
  • How AI can be applied securely and in real-world scenarios

No prior experience required – just bring your curiosity.

Goal: You will leave the event with your own working AI assistant prototype
