Spotlight on Career Paths
Three study programmes, three panels, many insights: graduate talks at karriere.netzwerk
In mid-October, karriere.netzwerk, the job and career fair of USTP – University of Applied Sciences St. Pölten, was held. During the event, graduates of our bachelor degree programmes Media Technology, Media Management and – for the very first time – Creative Computing joined three panel discussions with the slogan ''Career? Yes, please.'' Our graduates gave authentic, open, and inspiring insights into their professional career paths after their studies.
Career? Yes, please.
Our panel discussions with graduates provide students with a format that directly addresses their questions and needs, thereby smoothly integrating into our annual karriere.netzwerk event. "The direct exchange between graduates and current students makes the career fair authentic and gives companies valuable insights into the next generations’ perspectives – it is truly a win-win for everybody involved'', says Rosa von Suess.
Launched by the study programme Media Technology some years ago, the format has since successfully evolved. Now, it comprises three study programmes. We are happy that this idea has had such a lasting impact and that it is popular with both students and companies.
Next to their personal experiences, the graduates also shared concrete practical tips with this year’s students – ranging from finding an internship, project work, and starting your first job. The graduates’ personal approach to their own professional development was very valuable to our students. It helps them to trust in the skills they acquire during their studies, encourages them to invest time and energy early on to step up their professional growth, and stay open for learning in their own working life.
The message was clear: If you are invested, you are high in demand in the sector.
Our students attended the event live. There were many networking opportunities, and enough time to ask individual questions towards the end.

It was great to see graduates of the bachelor degree programme both as company representatives at the stands and as panellists during the panel discussions “Everbody Is Building a Career'' where they shared their inspiring success stories.''

We would like to thank all graduates for their time, their openness, and their valuable insights!
The panel discussions have, once again, demonstrated the broad range of career paths USTP students can pursue upon graduation – and it highlighted the importance of bringing together students and graduates to exchange their experiences and perspectives.
