USTP City Lounge – A Vibrant Meeting Place
USTP City Lounge is developing into a vibrant meeting place
The first events have already demonstrated the immense potential of the new USTP City Lounge: it creates space for exchange, innovation, education, and social dialogue – right in the heart of St. Pölten.
Round Table on the Future of Elementary Education
At the end of June, the focus was initially on the future of elementary education in Lower Austria. During a round table discussion, representatives from education and politics discussed current challenges, new requirements for training, and perspectives for the further development of early childhood education.
A particular highlight was the new part-time Bachelor’s degree program in Elementary Education at USTP, which launches this fall. With this program, USTP is providing an important boost for the training of future professionals and contributing to the advancement of early childhood education in Lower Austria.
SMARTUP Scholarship
A few days later, the USTP City Lounge became a hub for innovation and entrepreneurship. As part of the 8th SMARTUP Scholarship awards, three innovative startup ideas were recognized and supported with a scholarship of 5,000 euros each.
The winners were:
- Costvise
- VLIP GmbH
- WÖLFIN – Female Facts & Faces
The funded projects impressively demonstrate the innovative strength of St. Pölten as a business and education hub. The goal of the SMARTUP Scholarship is to support founders in developing their ideas, enable key milestones, and promote the long-term establishment of innovative projects in the region.

A Place for Encounters, Knowledge Transfer, Innovation, and Social Discussion
The events held so far already illustrate what the USTP City Lounge stands for: an open space for encounters, knowledge transfer, innovation, and social discussions.
Now comes the next step: the completion of the lounge. Soon, the new USTP "living room" will be fully ready for use. In the future, the modern premises will offer space for workshops, information events, networking meetings, and new collaborations.
At the same time, the USTP City Lounge will become a central point of contact for the public. Interested individuals will be able to get information on-site about degree programs, research projects, innovation initiatives, and USTP activities.
Thus, the USTP City Lounge offers space not only for events but also for new ideas, collaborations, and dialogue with the city's community.
We look forward to many more exciting encounters, projects, and events at the USTP City Lounge!
