Global Perspectives in Action

In End-November, USTP – University of Applied Sciences St. Pölten Became a Hub for International Encounters

For one week, USTP – University of Applied Sciences St. Pölten celebrated international encounters, new partnerships, and diversity in action. The higher education institution welcomed over 160 guests from 15 countries across the world. The participants joined the International Week and participated in programme items featuring a broad range of international activities and events. The presentation of the E³UDRES² Award for Female Entrepreneurship 2025 marked one of the week’s highlights.

In the last week of November, USTP – University of Applied Sciences St. Pölten offered its international guests, and the USTP’s students, lecturers, and researchers a colourful programme of lectures, workshops, and networking opportunities.

International Week – Partnerships for Skills

The International Week, which hosted around 30 representatives of partner institutions, addressed the topic of how international partnerships impact the development of skills and competencies: What are particularly important skills of today and which skills do we need in the future? What roles do universities play in promoting them? What forms of cooperation and partnership have the strongest impact on their further development?

Participants included lecturers, researchers, employees, students, political decision makers, representatives of regional and international higher education institutions, and stakeholders from the fields of research, and innovation.

Representatives of partner universities, and lecturers, employees, and researchers of USTP gave hands-on insights into projects and initiatives. The participants could engage in exchange in a total of five sessions.

“International exchange is a decisive driver for the development of new competencies. Formats such as the International Week demonstrate the added value that such diverse perspectives have for our higher education institution. It is not just the students who benefit – but the institution as a whole”, says Daniela Lohner, head of the USTP’s International Office.

During the Teaching Staff Week, guest teachers of the partner universities of USTP gave lectures on a broad range of topics in various courses.
