Master programme Rail Technology and Management of Railway SystemsUpon completing this programme, our students earn the degree Diplom-Ingenieur*in (Dipl.-Ing.).
There are five different specialisations in the master degree programme Rail Technology. Students choose one of them at the beginning of their studies. The modules of the electives path make up about half of the programme’s contents.
These options are available:
- Vehicle engineering, energy technology, signal technology
- Management, market, system technology
- Construction engineering, construction management
- Management, energy technology, system technology
- Vehicle engineering, market, signal technology

A master degree programme generally broadens the horizon and opens up diverse possibilities. It can be particularly helpful to specialise in a certain area of expertise.
During their studies, the students have numerous opportunities to establish contacts in the railway sector that allow them to develop a valuable network.
Especially the management paths of the programme prepare the students for future leading positions in railway companies.
This master is a part-time study programme, which means that classes are usually held every two weeks on Friday (from 13:00) and Saturday (until 18:00).
In addition, there are two intensive weeks (all day from Monday to Saturday) with mandatory attendance on site at the USTP – University of Applied Sciences St. Pölten.
